On Thursday 30th March 2017, a wet cool autumn day, the society set off early from Ulladulla for a day trip to Nowra. With an excellent turn up of 14 members, our first visit was at the Shoalhaven Family History Centre at Pyree. On arrival we were greeted by Carolyn Allen and Marienne Faull and welcomed with a delightful morning tea. After much chatter and laughter Carolyn and Marienne gave us an account of their society and facilities. We were able to browse these resources. Some members found new information which they were able to have photocopied.
Lunch time came around very quickly. Off we set to enjoy a buffet lunch at the Nowra Ex-servos. With full tummies we headed to the Nowra Library Family Research Centre. Derrilin Marshal, Local Heritage Librarian, gave an illustrated and informative talk on their facilities available to the general public. Members again had opportunity for further research.
It was a very successful day and was enjoyed by all.
