Timber Book Launch

A Successful Event

Our Society launched the new “Timber Workers and their families of Milton-Ulladulla District” book on 5th March at the Dunn Lewis Centre. The guest speakers were The Hon. Shelley Hancock, MP who is also our patron, Lee Blessington from the Forestry Corporation NSW, Jim Howe former mill owner and timber worker and Marg Magnusson author/researcher of this book.

The afternoon was well attended with more than 60 people including members and visitors from around the Shoalhaven area. Marg Magnusson was there to sign copies of the book that were purchased on the day.

Following the speeches afternoon tea was enjoyed by all by. This was supplied by the Dunn Lewis Centre.

Marg Magnusson has been widely congratulated on this outstanding book. It took approximately 3 years to research and covers many families and workers from Conjola in the north to Bawley Point, Kiola and Termeil in the south. It spreads west to Brooman, Flatrock, and Shallow Crossing.

The book is now in the Ulladulla and Nowra Libraries, Pyree and Moruya Family History Societies. At present the book is only available for sale from our Society from our room at the Civic Centre Lower Floor Ulladulla.
