Three Metres from Catastrophe: Sydney’s 1971 Airliner Collision…. “The world was horrified in 1977 when two Boeing 747 airliners collided at Los Rodeos airport in the Canary Islands, killing 583 people.   … stories recall the night of 29 January 1971 when two jet airliners collided on the runway at Kingsford-Smith Airport in Mascot…a trial was conducted in Sydney in May/June1975 Documenting Women’s Lives Across a Century: Miss Porter’s House…. “King Street, Newcastle …is mostly dominated by modern buildings…..one building though….stands out as a piece of history.  When you open the gate to Miss Porter’s House, walk down the path…through a fernery….you enter a world that has now disappeared……photos…

Violin Virtuoso: Stanley Moses….. “born in Windsor, 1878…..son of a storekeeper…..grandson of a convict….Stanley showed considerable talent…..in 1900 he was invited to play at the Paris Exhibition….” married for 2months Stanley died of influenza !!!    

First Builders in Wagga Wagga…. “the first buildings in the little village of Wagga Wagga were all quite primitive in construction.  John Franklin’s blacksmith shop, the police buildings and the first hotel were all crude slab and bark huts…. Not unlike the buildings and shops in the new book, The Shopkeepers and their families of Milton Ulladulla !!

Hastie’s House and the Drover’s Wife – a true story.  Hastie’s House, a late 19th century home originally built for Adam Hastie, manager of the Werribee Park……..(it) had been left abandoned from the Church days… house restored, lived in…..then a humorous story of a snake !!
